Use Magic Notes

Magic Notes is for meeting records, research drafts, ideas, and long-term plans. Notes are application-level data. The full workspace supports rich text, todos, and paged canvases, while the workbar provides quick browsing and appending.

Capture conversation content

Choose Add to note from an assistant response, or Save current conversation to note from the conversation menu. Review the preview, source, and destination, then explicitly save. A full capture contains completed user and assistant text, preserving Markdown, line breaks, and code. Reasoning, tool logs, system prompts, binary attachments, and images are excluded.

Saved entries keep structured source information. Open a source to return to the conversation or locate the message. If the source is later removed, the note body remains and the source is marked unavailable. A failed save keeps the preview and destination for retry; cancelling writes nothing.

Quick panel and full workspace

Open + > Notes in the workbar to search notes, view summaries, and append text. The panel and full workspace share storage, so successful writes appear in both. Unsaved drafts stay in app memory and are protected when changing project, conversation, or workbar visibility. Leaving the panel asks whether to keep or discard a changed draft.

Tags are manual. A note can have up to 10 case-insensitive tags; filter by tags or rename, merge, and delete them in tag management. Deleting a tag does not delete notes.

Canvas and AI comments

Paged canvases support templates, text, handwriting, highlights, images, and PDF backgrounds. Canvas saves are manual. Zoom changes viewing only; there is no infinite canvas or separate PNG download.

Request AI comments manually, or enable analysis after save. Comments use the default model's image input and the first 1 to 8 configured pages. Visual-only content requires an image-capable model; a text-only model uses a labelled text fallback. Analysis failure never undoes saved content and does not append again automatically.
